Samsung data backup Samsung data restoration How to use Samsung Data Tool? What does Samsung Data Tool do? What is Samsung Data Tool for?The Samsung Data tool allows you to backup and restore your device's data. If you wish to see the options available through the application, please follow these steps: - Go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage All Installed Applications and tap on "Sarasoft" (with a space). - Then tap on "SAMSUNG DATA TOOL" and press menu at top of screen. You will be provided with three different options for backing up your device's system files, media content, or contacts. After making your selection, press the back button and you will be presented with a list of options to choose from. What is Samsung Data Tool for? After you select what you want to backup, simply tap on "SELECT ALL" to backup all of your selected items. After pressing the Select All button, you must decide if you would like to rename the files or not. If you wish to change the file name, please make sure that the checkbox is selected. This will allow for any characters that may appear in your file names, such as apostrophes or spaces, to be removed from them before they are created. The same goes for the folder name that is given when they are saved. After selecting either "Rename files before saving" or "Don't rename files", you will be asked if you would like to save memory when they are backed up. This is determined by the amount of available space on your device. Note that the more your device has, the less memory space you will need to back up. If it is possible for you to do so, please select a higher value. If you do not have a large amount of memory available, then you can choose a lower value and save on memory usage even though this may not be ideal for restoring your data with the small memory size of most devices today. After saving memory, you will be prompted to choose a storage location for each backup you have created. If you wish to back up to your device's internal storage, then select "SD Card". Note that if this is done, then the backed up files will only be stored on the SD Card and not elsewhere. After choosing a location for each file, tap on "SAVE" and allow for all of your selected files to be saved onto your device. After pressing Save, you will be taken back to the main screen of your application where you can press "BACK UP" or "RESTORE". Restoration of your device's data will require the use of the Samsung Data tool. If you do not wish to restore your data using the application, please follow these steps:All of the files that were backed up from your device should be located in a folder called "Sarasoft", which will be located in either "Internal Storage" or "SD Card". If this folder does not exist after restoring, please make sure you have selected "SD Card" as a location for backing up and then try again. To restore your device's data, you must tap on this folder while pressing hold on each file until they are restored. eccc085e13
